Q: WHY IS THERE ONLY A DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY IN BOTH FAIRFAX COUNTY AND FAIRFAX CITY? WHAT GIVES?
In Fairfax County, there are only Democratic Primaries this year. They will be on June 11th.
Q: HOW CAN I CHANGE MY PARTY AFFILIATION TO VOTE IN THE DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY?
You can’t! We don’t register by political party in Virginia. All primaries are open.
Q: WHAT IS AN OPEN PRIMARY?
Virginia is an Open Primary state which means that any registered voter in Virginia can vote in either a Democratic or Republican primary.
Q: Who’s on the Ballot?
June 11th Primary:
In Fairfax County, there are only Democratic Primaries on June 11th.
